Injuries leave Lumsden in lurch

Arbroath could be without nine players for the home game against Queen's Park six days after sacking manager Allan Moore.

Assistant Todd Lumsden is trying to piece together a side with Liam Gordon (hamstring), Adam Hunter (ankle), Ryan McGeever (ankle), Jonny Lindsay (ankle), Kieran Stewart (hamstring), Dylan Carreiro (illness) and Paul McManus (knee) all ruled out, while Jordon Lowdon and Simon Murray are doubtful.

Lumsden said: "Despite a disappointing few days we can make the play-offs if we win this game.

"But I'm going to have to juggle things about considerably to get a team on the park due to our injuries."

Queen's Park will add fit-again Ryan Hynes to their squad but will be without James Baty (groin), while Shaun Fraser has work commitments as the Spiders look to secure the point that would clinch second place.

Head coach Gus McPherson said: "Todd is an experienced coach and there are good players there with a target to achieve in terms of reaching the play-offs.

"So this will be a very difficult game. We are concentrating only on getting the win as we do not expect Albion Rovers to stumble too far in terms of winning the title.

"Instead we will look to build some momentum behind us for the play-offs."
