Talbot missing for Pars
Dunfermline host Cowdenbeath in the Scottish League Cup and are without Jason Talbot as he is sitting out the second game of a two-match ban for his dismissal in a pre-season friendly against Hibs.
Allan Johnston's side got their season off to a flying start with a 4-1 win at Arbroath last Saturday and he is looking for the same again.
He said: "It was a very good performance and the players deserve credit for the way they passed the ball about.
"It would be terrific to continue that form however we recognise that Cowdenbeath will be out to make things very difficult for us."
Cowdenbeath are only missing Jack Beaumont due to a foot injury as they make the short trip across Fife to East End Park.
It is the second derby of the new season already for the Blue Brazil, with manager Colin Nish looking for his side to bounce back after last weekend's 1-0 defeat from Raith Rovers.
Nish said: "There was not a lot between ourselves and Raith in a game of few chances and I would expect this to be another game just like that.
"Dunfermline played very well at Arbroath last weekend where they were given the boost by scoring early on.
"We have to ensure that does not happen."
