In-form Guingamp hoping to cause a shock at Paris St Germain

In-form Guingamp are hoping to come up with a strategy that will bring an end Paris St Germain's unbeaten start to the season when the two sides square off at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday.

Guingamp lost their opening three league games but are now riding a three-match winning streak in Ligue 1 heading into the encounter in Paris.

Jocelyn Gourvennec's side beat Ajaccio 2-1 on Saturday to climb to eighth in the standings and move to within five points of league leaders PSG.

St Etienne and Rennes are one point adrift of PSG.

"We will do everything we can so as not to suffer too much in Paris," Guingamp striker Jimmy Briand said on the club's official website. "We will try to contain PSG and why not try to make the most of our chances."

Briand set up Guingamp's opener against Ajaccio before scoring the winner and has proved pivotal in his team's recent impressive run.

He has provided three assists and scored one goal in the last three league games.

"The important thing is that we won," Briand said. "We knew we needed to be more ruthless.

"We have a team that gives nothing away and that gets on with the job.

"We have to continue on this path."

Guingamp have given away a goal in their last three league games and take on a PSG side that has not kept a clean sheet in their last two Ligue 1 encounters.

The French champions beat Malmo FF in their Champions League opener last week and then came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at Reims on Saturday, courtesy of Edinson Cavani's equaliser.

PSG, coached by Laurent Blanc, have drawn their last two league games.

"We cannot win every game," PSG's Argentinian midfielder Javier Pastore said. "It's always difficult after a Champions League game.

"The important thing is we didn't lose and we took a point."

Uruguay forward Cavani came off the bench at the weekend and is expected to start on Tuesday night. He is at the top of the Ligue 1 goal-scoring charts with five goals.

"Edinson is a player that scores 30-odd goals every season," Blanc said of Cavani. "He is scoring regularly and for a forward, that's important.

"I hope his run continues because that will mean his confidence is high."

Cavani scored a hat-trick against Guingamp in May - a 6-0 romp for PSG in Paris.
