Quinn targets top-six slot
Ross County midfielder Rocco Quinn wants to build on the positivity surrounding the club by pushing for a top-six place in the Ladbrokes Premiership.
County have invested heavily on and off the pitch, making 12 signings, several on long-term deals, and improving the training facilities and stadium with the installation of a shop and sports bar.
Jim McIntyre's side created some decent chances in their opening defeat at Celtic Park and Quinn aims to make a bright start to their home campaign when County host Hamilton on Saturday.
Quinn, who is entering his fifth season in Dingwall, said: "Obviously a lot of players came and went. There are new training-ground facilities and there is a real positive vibe about the place.
"We were sad to see a lot of the boys leave but you need to have a positive outlook and the manager and the chairman have instilled that in the club.
"The signings have only been positive. They are all very good players and they have all added to the changing room. The one thing I have noticed is how close the changing room is now.
"It's a close-knit bunch of boys and we are all getting on well together and I think that is showing in the one performance and the pre-season games."
McIntyre has a full squad for the visit of Hamilton with Jamie Reckord is available again after missing the opening defeat at Celtic Park with an Achilles injury.
Hamilton midfielder Dougie Imrie insists boss Martin Canning can replicate Alex Neil's success at Accies - by copying his methods.
The player-manager took time to adapt to being in charge after replacing Norwich-bound Neil in January.
But while Neil made a stunning start to life in England as he guided the Carrow Road side to promotion to the Barclays Premier League, Canning could only watch as his team dropped out of the top six after slumping to 13 games without a win.
However, Canning continues to base his plans on the blueprint left by Neil and three wins in the final five matches of last season have provided Imrie with hope ahead of the new campaign.
He said: "The manager has been in charge for six months now and that spell will definitely have benefited him. Since he came in, nothing has really changed. He's kept things the way they were under Alex.
"Results didn't really go for him and he was unfortunate. We just couldn't get the goal or clean-sheet we needed to get a win for a long time. But things picked up at the end of the season though.
"Obviously everyone learns from those sorts of things but the gaffer hasn't changed much in the way we do things and I think the way he wants to play football is the way it should be played.
"So there is definitely the makings of a good season in this squad. We just need to make sure we get off to a good start."
