FA Cup winners Arsenal are readying a £30million bid for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain as they look to steal a march on rivals Manchester United. Reports from Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that Arsene Wenger's side are ready to submit their bid for the former Real Madrid striker, after holding talks with the player agent and brother Nicolas. The Gunners have long been linked with a move for Higuain and were close to signing the player before he opted for Serie A side Napoli two years ago, being deemed surplus to requirements at Real Madrid. Wenger believes he may have a second chance at signing the 27-year-old with Napoli failing to qualify for next seasons Champions League. But if Arsenal are to succeed in their attempts at signing Higuain, they'll have to up their bid with Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis looking for nearer £40million. Arsenal aren't the only Premier League side chasing the Argentine's signature though, with United, Chelsea and Liverpool all being linked in recent weeks. Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri has even claimed that the Red Devils have already made moves to bring the striker to Old Trafford.
