Salford's FA Cup second round tie against Hartlepool will be broadcast live on BBC Two on Friday December 4 at 19:55. The part-timers from the Northern Premier League Premier Division - who are co-owned by former Manchester United players Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt - beat Sky Bet League Two side Notts County 2-0 in the first round. The match at the 1,400 capacity Moor Lane was watched by a peak audience of some 3.5million. BBC lead executive for football M ark Cole believes Salford's story has captured the imagination of the viewing public. "There is clearly a real interest from the audience in Salford's progress and whether a team from the seventh tier can make it to the third round for the first time in their history," he said. "We are delighted to have the stand-out fixture of the second round, live on BBC Two. It kicks off a busy weekend of FA Cup programming including Football Focus live from non-league Stourbridge on Saturday ahead of their tie with Eastleigh, Final Score showcasing all the goals from all the games on Sunday and the FA Cup draw live from Cardiff on Monday night." Other ties chosen for live televised coverage by BT Sport are Rochdale versus Bury on Sunday December 6, kick-off at 12:00, and Grimsby against Shrewsbury, which will be played at 7.45pm on Monday December 7. Eight of the remaining second round ties will be moved to December 6, confirmation of which will be announced at a later date.
