Mathieu Manset is a powerful young Istriker who arrived at Reading in January 2011, having previously been with Hereford United. He soon adapted to his new surroundings, making light of the move from the lower reaches of League Two to the play-off places in the Championship by scoring in the dying stages of his away debut at high-flying Cardiff City. Mathieu began his career with Le Havre, before finding his goalscoring form with the Bulls in 2010. He scored a crucial goal for Brian McDermott's injury-ravaged side at Barnsley, setting up a 1-0 win that kept the Royals' play-off charge alive. An Olympic squad member for the Ivory Coast in recent months, he will be hoping to feature in London 2012.
