Sean Scannell is a young attacking player on the books of Crystal Palace. A striker or right winger he possesses a searing pace that enables him to get past opponents at ease. Sean rose up through the ranks at Selhurst Park, making his senior debut in December 2007, a memorable occasion which he topped with a last-minute winner. Injury hampered his progress slightly during 2010-11, but nevertheless he was effective as an impact player when coming off the bench. His runs down the channels caused problems for opposition defenders, and he played both out wide and up front in an out-and-out striking role. Sean scored a fine goal with a strike from 30 yards out at Leicester towards the end of the season. He has represented the Republic of Ireland at U21 level.
